Everyone has a unique and beautiful individual practice. We can grow and become inspired by other yogis, but must honor ourselves, quirks and all. Everything I learn as I try new styles of yoga, every piece of information I read or learn from another teacher, and every philosophical realization that clicks is my opportunity to offer my students something new, something bigger, something extraordinary. That's what yoga can be for you, and I only hope I can take you a step closer to that place.

I teach yoga in order for students to find the potential within themselves. Each person comes with their own set of strengths and challenges and my classes offer something for everyone in an open, supportive environment. I trained with Yoga to the People in 2013 and have been teaching ever since. My background is vinyasa-based with particular attention to alignment, progressing to the connection of breath with movement.
Nancy Kyes has been teaching since 2003 and is dedicated to helping students navigate their own paths through yoga. She is committed to a playful, meditative approach that engages her students in the process of integrating body, mind and heart.
I enjoy teaching people of all levels, ages and conditions, building on what works for each individual. Using our breath to focus on alignment and postural awareness through yoga develops a better relationship with gravity and a more mindful pattern in daily life that serves our body and settles our hearts and minds. Being in my 60ies inspires me and I'm seeking the vitality available through aging. Getting older isn't a cliff, it's just the next phase.
A perfect yoga class for me weaves together a little work, a little sweat and a good laugh or two! I love teaching yoga to anyone willing to stretch their heart, mind or breath. Sometimes it's the most simple things that can connect us, and through yoga we can learn about ourselves and each other.
